Filling In The Blanks

A small recap of what I've been doing with my life the past three weeks. (Not in any particular order)

This was my original homestay home before I had to move out (they have about a million cats and I found out after I got there that I'm allergic to cats).
The view from my new room.
My first home-cooked meal (jambon, tomates, mozzarella, pain, et pancakes avec fromage fondu).
Gangnam in Lyon?
Me being a tourist in this sweet alley of restaurants near Bellecour.
After-school mimosas at Parc de la Tête d'Or.
Rain + Vieux Lyon.
Mira.
First time drinking wine at a restaurant in France (with Mia).
An after-school picnic with the classmates (Parc de la Tête d'Or).
Cathy and I inside the greenhouse (Parc de la Tête d'Or).
Wine by the Rhône on the first night.
First time having confit de canard (duck confit).
I'm a little ashamed to admit that this is from Häagen-Dazs.
A liter of long island iced tea (Hôtel de Ville).
Having a drink by the river.
#Phantasy, Clara, + Mojitos.
Derek came out too good in this one to not post.
A delicious tarte au citron.
My face says it all.
Carrefour selling macarons like they're leftover Vons cookies.
And finally...

(Surprisingly good) Korean food in France!

Saint-Just (sandt-joos)

BMXing at Place Bellecour.

Arrived at the ruins only to find out they were already closed for the day :(

It looked while we were on a field trip with all the packs that were being backin'.

The view of Lyon via Saint-Just.

Me + Lyon.

It wouldn't be Lyon if there wasn't an electronic DJ on the hill.

Chair engravings.

The rivers.

"Nailed it."

Sitting.

Lina + Lyon.

2 posts in a day! Super.

Today, a couple of friends and I decided to go to the ruins on the Fourvière hill. We met at Place Bellecour (our usual meet up spot), where some people were practicing their BMX skillz. The city had provided the ramps, barricades, music, and other things they needed so that they could practice (for free). I think it's cool that the city provides th outlets for people's artistic sides. They also provide these services for for break dancing (everyday at Hôtel de Ville) and rap battles (not sure how often).
Anyways, so we get to the ruins, and what do you know, they're closed. It was such a bummer but Lina decided to take us to a park instead and that's how we ended up in Saint-Just (which is on top of the Fourvière hill). While we were entering the park, we started to hear some music, so we thought we were arriving at some kind of public concert. But when we got there, we saw that it was a DJ spinning some music for a group of people chillin by this amazing view of the city. I was so glad I had my camera! The spot was so cool that my friends and I decided to go back tomorrow so we could have a small picnic of some bread, cheese, + wine.

J'ai mangé un kebab frites. C'a été très bien. J'adore fromage. Si je peux manger seulement fromage et pain pour ma vie, je voudrais faire ça. J'était très fatiguée aujourd'hui. Je pense que j'était fatiguée parce que j'ai trop dansé hier soir. Bon nuit mes lecteurs. Bisous.

Intro: C'est La Vie

A family photo.

Lily and Kristen's farewell gifts to me :'(

Toronto --> Frankfurt.

I can't believe it's already been 3 weeks since I got to France. It seems like just yesterday that I was saying bye to my family and closest friends. I'll admit, I was tremendously nervous before I left. It was difficult to grasp the fact that I wasn't going to see my family or best friends for an entire year. But before leaving, I was also able to see the true colors in some other people in my life and was able to "filter out" these faux friends. In this way, I was able to make a step forward in my life, which is usually what many  big changes in life will do.

Goals:
The  purpose of my blog is not so I can gain imperishable fame by showing off amateur pictures taken from a very expensive camera. It's so that one day, I can look back and reminisce on what will probably be one of the best experiences of my life. It's basically going to be a journal with some pretty pictures and (some) private thoughts.
